Abstract
We'll discuss a recent program to realise (and quantise!) cluster coordinates on $G$-character stacks of surfaces using topological defects in the $\text{Rep}_qG$ skein TQFT. This approach extends immediately to 3-manifolds and can be formulated in terms of quasi-coherent sheaves on the character stack. At the same time it is concrete enough to allow for explicit computations involving ostensibly abstract quantum character stacks.
