Abstract
The moduli spaces of semistable Higgs bundles on a curve have been attracting lots of researchers in Geometry, Topology, Representation Theory, Number Theory, and Mathematical Physics. I'll talk about an interesting analogue of these semistable Higgs bundles for the complex projective surface case and their surprising outcome, strongly motivated by the Vafa-Witten theory on a toplogically twisted version of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions. This talk is based on joint work with Nikolas Kuhn; Nikolas Kuhn and Oliver Leigh; and Richard Thomas.
Speaker Intro
My research interests are primarily centred on Gauge theory within mathematics. Recently, my focus has been on semistable Higgs sheaves on complex projective surfaces and associated gauge-theoretic invariants, employing algebro-geometric methods. However, I also have a strong interest in working within the analytic category.
