Abstract
A classical problem in geometric discrepancy theory is to color a finite set of points in a Euclidean space red or blue so that every prescribed geometric shape (e.g. half-space, box, sphere) contains roughly equal numbers of red and blue points. In this talk, I will give a gentle introduction to the subject and discuss some new results concerning hyperplanes and affine algebraic sets of bounded complexity. Based on joint work with Azem Adibelli.

I am an Associate Professor at Umeå University in Sweden. I love combinatorics problems which have some spice to them, especially the ones with some flavor of geometry or linear algebra.
