Abstract
ODEs with apparent singularities have been prominent in algebraic Bethe ansatz, ODE/IM correspondence, and geometric Langlands program. I will first consider the problem of classifying ODEs which have one irregular singular point of Poincaré rank 1 and a finite number of apparent singularities. I will then discuss an analogous problem for difference equations. In both cases, the answer can be given in terms of some very familiar moduli spaces.
Speaker Intro
Oleg Chalykh obtained his PhD from Moscow State University in 1992, after which he worked at the Moscow State University and Kolmogorov School, then held visiting research positions at Loughborough University (UK) and Cornell University (USA) before moving to the University of Leeds (UK) in 2004 where he has been since. His interests include integrable systems, mathematical physics, and representation theory.
