Abstract
The Schur operators of 4d N=2 SCFTs form a 2d vertex operator algebra (VOA). Recently, it has been proposed that this 4d SCFT/2d VOA correspondence can be understood via topologically twisted 3d N=4 SCFTs obtained by the twisted circle compactification of the 4d theories. The 2d VOAs are supported on the holomorphic boundary of the topologically twisted sector. In this talk, we discuss a systematic and efficient method for constructing these 3d topological field theories (TFTs) using the BPS spectra and wall-crossing invariants of the 4d theories, focusing on Argyres-Douglas theories. This establishes a useful computational bridge between 4d SCFTs and 2d VOAs via the interpolating 3d TFTs.
