Abstract
The central dogma plays a crucial role in biology. From DNA transcription to RNA translation, and protein modification, proteins are the key players in life processes, influencing phenotype. Understanding proteins is of significant importance. The Human Genome Project (HGP) unveiled the "Book of Life” of the human genetic code. As it nears completion, scientists advocate for deciphering this "book" using proteomics, leading to the proposal of the Human Proteome Project (HPP). China has been at the forefront of proteomics research with initiatives such as the Human Liver Proteome Project (HLPP), China Human Proteome Project (NHPP), and the recent π-HuB project. I will provide a brief overview of these contents.
