Abstract
I will firstly give a brief review of manifold fitting, a data transformation technique developed by Zhigang Yao's team. Then I will introduce the idea of using manifold fitting technology to cluster scRNA seq data, which was also proposed by Yao. The basic idea here is to assume that the distribution of the observed data points is a convolution of a uniform distribution on some manifold and a Gaussian noise on the ambient space, so we can use the neighboring points of a single data point to determine the direction and distance of projection from the data point to the manifold.
