Abstract
Differential algebraic geometry, founded by Ritt and Kolchin, aims to study algebraic differential equations in a similar way in which polynomial equations are studied in commutative algebra or algebraic geometry. While intersection theory is at the heart of algebraic geometry and its rich theory could make for a great “second course” in algebraic geometry, the intersection theory in differental algebraic geometry is far from developed, and lots of challenging problems in this field including the differential dimension conjecture and the Jacobi's bound conjecture are still open. In this talk, we will give an overview of the intersection theory in differental algebraic geometry, in particular, generic differential intersections and differential Chow forms will be briefly introduced.
