In this class we will study the TTbar deformation of two-dimensional quantum field theories and its holographic description in three-dimensional gravity.

Prerequisite
Quantum Field Theory, General Relativity, and some knowledge of AdS/CFT
Syllabus
The class will be divided into three parts covering the following topics.

Part I: The TTbar deformation
Week 1: Motivation and the TTbar deformation
Week 2: The spectrum and torus partition function
Week 3: The TTbar deformation of a free scalar
Week 4: The TTbar deformation of a symmetric product orbifold
Week 5: Alternative formulations of TTbar deformed QFTs

Part II: Double-trace holography
Week 6: Brief introduction to AdS3/CFT2
Week 7: Cutoff AdS holography and mixed boundary conditions
Week 8: Holographic entanglement entropy

Part III: Single-trace holography
Week 9: Brief introduction to string theory in AdS3
Week 10: TTbar from string theory, the spectrum and correlation functions
Week 11: TTbar from supergravity, black hole entropy and thermodynamics
Week 12: The TTbar partition function from supergravity
