Biography

In 2019, Dr. Chitradipa Chakraborty successfully obtained her Ph.D. in Statistics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Subhra Sankar Dhar, an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Throughout her doctoral tenure, her research endeavors revolved around a diverse spectrum of statistical models, encompassing multivariate location models, location-scale models, and univariate non-parametric regression models, explored under various conditions. Upon completing her Ph.D. on June 1, 2019, she assumed the role of a visiting scientist at the Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore Centre, under the mentorship of Professor Mohan Delampady. During this tenure, she developed a keen interest in Bayesian Semiparametric Isotonic Regression Models, particularly for the analysis of annual maximum temperature data across India. Subsequently, on December 2, 2019, she embarked on a new academic journey by joining the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, as a visiting scientist, where she worked in close collaboration with Professor Probal Chaudhuri. During this valuable experience, her main research focus expanded into the realm of comparing distributions in spaces with an infinite number of dimensions. Furthermore, her professional journey extended to St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, where she served as an Assistant Professor from October 12, 2020, to March 31, 2023. Throughout this period, Dr. Chakaraborty actively contributed to various facets of academia, including research, teaching, and administrative duties.
