Abstract
I will give an overview on non-invertible global symmetries in general spacetime dimensions, based on a series of work from last year. A crucial element in these constructions is the gauging of a higher-form global symmetry in either half of the spacetime (half gauging), or along a higher codimensional manifold (higher gauging). I will then discuss a new non-invertible global symmetry in the real-world QED and QCD, and argue that the neutral pion decay can be understood in terms of this generalized global symmetry.
