Abstract
Disorder can profoundly alter wave propagation, giving rise to localization across a broad range of physical systems. This talk focuses on recent developments based on the localization landscape, which provides a useful framework for identifying localized states, understanding their spatial structure, and improving the computation of eigenpairs for disordered operators. We will discuss the main ideas behind this approach and its implications for wave localization, with a brief extension to disordered systems on fractal geometries, where the interplay between randomness and complex geometry leads to distinctive spectral and localization phenomena.
