Abstract
In this talk, I will discuss the interplay among the three classes of objects appearing in the title: cone spherical metrics, differentials, and the classical Hurwitz problem. I will present several examples of cone spherical metrics arising naturally from meromorphic differentials, together with some existence results related to the Hurwitz problem. If time permits, I will also briefly report on recent related developments by other mathematicians. This talk is based on joint work with Qing Chen, Yiran Cheng, Bo Li, Sicheng Lu, Jijian Song, Zhiqiang Wei, Yingyi Wu, and Yu Ye.
Speaker Intro
许斌,中国科学技术大学教授,博士生导师。1997年7月于中国科学技术大学获理学学士学位,2003年7月于日本东京大学获理学博士学位。2003年10月至2004年12月在日本东京工业大学从事博士后研究,随后于2005年1月至6月赴美国约翰·霍普金斯大学继续博士后工作。自2005年12月起在中国科学技术大学任职至今。他的研究方向为复几何,近年来的研究重点集中于以下几方面:奇异特殊凯勒结构的研究、代数可积系统上超凯勒度量的显式构造,以及经典的Hurwitz存在性问题。
