Abstract
In this talk, an alternative way to classify Lie algebras will be discussed. It is based on the Vogel's Λ-algebra, which is an algebra of trivalent diagrams modulo AS and IHX relations, resembling the axioms of Lie algebra. Due to the numerous relations in Λ, each simple Lie algebra is determined by as little as two parameters. Additionally, Λ contains zero divisors, which puts another constrain on the possible values of these parameters, allowing for classification of Lie algebras that is completely independent of the regular Cartan-Dynkin classification.
