Abstract
We discuss a question raised by H. Esnault and M. Kerz recently concerning the relationship between non-abelian Noether–Lefschetz loci and complex analytic subvarieties inside leaves of the isomonodromy deformation of local systems. We present recent progress toward understanding this connection and describe various obstruction maps in terms non-abelian Kodaira-Spencer map. This is joint work with T. Z. Hu, R. R. Sun, and J. B. Yang.
