Abstract
In his study of the polynomial Hirsch conjecture, Santos introduced the problem of determining the largest possible diameter of a strongly connected d-dimensional simplicial complex on n vertices. We give a precise answer for any fixed d and sufficiently large n.

Stefan Glock is assistant professor at the University of Passau in Germany. Prior to that, he spent 3 years as a junior fellow at ETH Zürich, after completing his PhD at the University of Birmingham.
