Abstract
Given a manifold with a distinguished 2-form, we can construct an algebraic mapping cone encoding this form. When the 2-form is integral, we can equivalently construct a circle bundle whose Euler class is represented by this form. Connections on the original manifold correspond to those on the circle bundle, as well as to (virtual) connections on the mapping cone. We study the critical points of a functional over the mapping cone that corresponds to the Yang-Mills functional on the original manifold. The current project aims to construct a compactification of this moduli space, in joint work with Jonathan Delgado, Davide Parise and Li-Sheng Tseng.
