Abstract
Since the introduction of RSA and El-gamal crypto systems, many elementary number theory questions have gained practical importance in computer science. We discuss the number field sieve through the lens of these computer science questions, following a historical approach, assuming no prior knowledge of this field.
Speaker Intro
Ali Rajea got his ph.d. in algebraic number theory from Princeton University under the supervision of Professor Andrew Wiles and was a postdoc at McGill University, and a visitor at Stanford University and Berkeley University before joining Tarbiat Modares University.
