Abstract
Mumford showed that a surface singularity is smooth if its link is simply connected. It is interested to ask whether the global version of Mumford theorem holds: let M be a strongly pseudoconvex CR manifold of dimension 3 which bounds a variety X with isolated singularity, if M is simply connected, then X has no interior singularity. I will talk about the recent progress towards the global Mumford theorem.
