Abstract
I will introduce a project towards building a real homotopy theory for almost complex manifolds and towards comparing it to an existing one for complex manifolds. There are two steps required in building such a theory—first a linear step and then a multiplicative one. The linear step already displays formidable difficulties arising from representation theory. I shall explain what is known in this linear step, what the difficulty is as well as some comparison results known in the linear step.
