Modern scientific computing for differential equations
This course presents an introduction on how modern scientific computing helps with differential equations, and study of solutions and dynamics. We’ll review core ODE/PDE ideas, then use modern machine learning methods to both solve equations and build continuous-time models. Along the way, we’ll read selected thesis chapters, surveys, and key papers to connect ideas with practice. Examples will compare AI with classic numerical methods and show when to use each for real problems in biology, engineering, and more.
