Fundamentals of Turbulence Modeling
Turbulence modeling plays a crucial role in the study of fluid dynamics, particularly in engineering and scientific applications. This course provides an introduction to the fundamental theories and methodologies of turbulence modeling, covering key concepts such as turbulence statistics, the closure problem, Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations, eddy viscosity models, Large Eddy Simulation (LES), and Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS). Special emphasis is placed on the practical implementation of turbulence models in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The course is designed for students and researchers in fluid mechanics, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, and computational physics who seek a deeper understanding of turbulence modeling techniques and their applications.
