Cyclotomic Fields and Zeta Values
Hi all, the lecture on June 11 will be rescheduled to the afternoon session,
Date: 2026-06-11
Weekday: Thu
Time: 13:30 - 15:05
Venue: A3-2-201
Zoom ID: 468 248 1222
Zoom PW: BIMSA
Link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/4682481222?pwd=blB1iiGxwdoRES6LVcWlt2b6zpamv5.1
This course provides an accessible introduction to Iwasawa theory, primarily based on the textbook Cyclotomic Fields and Zeta Values by J. Coates and R. Sujatha. We will present the simplest proof of the "main conjecture" for cyclotomic fields, illustrating the profound link between the special values of zeta and L-functions and purely arithmetic expressions. If time permits, we will introduce more examples concerning "main conjectures".
