BIMSA Mini-Workshop on Mathematics and Tumors: A match made in heaven hold in BIMSA
The effectiveness of cancer treatment is an important concern for both doctors and patients. However, even with the same condition and treatment plan, the outcomes can vary greatly among different patients. What factors influence the treatment effectiveness? How can a treatment plan be tailored to suit an individual patient's constitution? What impact do the interactions between immune cells, stromal cells, and other non-cancerous cells within the tumor microenvironment have on the development and progression of cancer, as well as the effectiveness of treatment? Many mysteries have enticed responsible professional clinicians and mathematicians to collaborate, using advanced mathematical methods to solve the enigmas!
This Mini-Workshop is the first meeting for seeking cooperation and exchange between Professor Shi Min's team from Southern Medical University and the Algebraic Topology and It’s Application team at BIMSA, where discussions will be held on current research methods and existing challenges.
