HKSIAM Launches Prestigious International Fellowship Programme to Advance Applied Mathematics and AI

18th January, 2026

The Hong Kong Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (HKSIAM) is proud to announce the official launch of the Hong Kong SIAM International Fellowship Programme (HKIFP), a pioneering initiative designed to bring together world-class researchers in applied mathematics and artificial intelligence.

Spearheaded by Professor Shing-Tung Yau and organized by HKSIAM, the programme represents a major collaborative effort across academia. It is supported by more than ten leading university mathematics departments and top-tier research institutions from key hubs, including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Beijing, and Shanghai.

The HKIFP aims to create a vibrant, international platform for scholarly exchange, innovation, and collaboration. By connecting exceptional minds from across the globe, the programme seeks to accelerate breakthroughs in cutting-edge fields and foster the next generation of research leadership.

Programme Highlights Include:

· Elite Academic Networking: Fellows will engage in deep, meaningful exchanges with distinguished peers and leading authorities in their fields.

· Dedicated Research Funding: The programme provides special grants to support fellows’ innovative research projects.

· Authoritative Mentorship: Participants will receive direct guidance from renowned experts and scholars.

· Access to Premier Resources: Fellows gain entry to first-class research platforms, facilities, and academic networks across Greater China.

The HKIFP is now open for applications. Scholars and researchers specializing in applied mathematics, artificial intelligence, and related interdisciplinary fields are encouraged to apply and become part of this dynamic academic community.
