BIMSA and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd. join hands to open a new chapter in aviation science collaboration
31st December, 2024
Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (hereby abbreviated to BIMSA) and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (hereby abbreviated as COMAC) have successfully signed a collaborative agreement in 2024, which sought to open a new chapter for cooperative technological advancements in the aviation industry. The two sides have established a comprehensive cooperative relationship in scientific research and talent development, as well as other aspects. Driven by the demands for large aircraft developments as incentive, they are able to take full advantage of the talents at BIMSA, in order to establish long-term collaborative efforts for research and innovation in industrial and commercial large-aircraft aviation.
On July 15th,2024, vice president of BIMSA Fei Long, and Xin Jiang, Minister of Science and Technology Management at COMAC, signed a cooperative agreement at BIMSA.

In the future, BIMSA will continue to deepen its collaborative efforts with COMAC, and open up new fields of interdisciplinary research in mathematics and aviation science in order to help large domestic aircrafts to take off.
Introduction to BIMSA:
BIMSA, established on June 12, 2020 with the support of the Beijing Municipal Committee and Government, is a world-class new research institution jointly built with Tsinghua University. Renowned international scientist Shing-Tung Yau serves as the founding president. Prof. Yau is one of the most influential scientists in the contemporary world, having received the Fields Medal, MacArthur Fellowship, Crafoord Prize, Wolf Prize, and the Marcel Grossmann Award – the only scientist to have achieved this unique combination of five prestigious global science awards. BIMSA aims to promote the development of mathematical science, foster cross-disciplinary integration of mathematics with other sciences, cultivate and expand the talent base engaged in mathematical research in China, attract scientists and researchers globally, and establish an international academic exchange platform. The institution also seeks to facilitate diverse cooperation from fundamental research to industrial applications, enhance the capability and level of mathematical support for innovative development, and build an international innovation hub. As BIMSA continues to be constructed and developed, it has become one of the significant "new calling cards" showcasing the achievements of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center and the Comprehensive National Science Center in Huairou, Beijing.
Introduction to Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) Ltd.:
