摘要
Which complex projective varieties admit an endomorphism of degree greater than 1? This seems to be an extremely restrictive property; it is expected that all examples can be built from toric varieties or abelian varieties. We describe the known methods and results on this problem. The case of del Pezzo surfaces with du Val singularities required some new ideas to resolve.
