摘要
Casimir force is a type of long range fluctuation-induced effective interaction. Since its introduction into physics through analyzing zero point quantum fluctuation of vacuum, it has been generalized to a broad contexts related to fluctuations whose origins could be quantum/thermal/stochastic, equilibrium/non-equilibrium. In this talk, I will start with a short survey on the history of Casimir physics. Then I will discuss our works on equilibrium Casimir force for a Euclidean field theory with higher-order derivative actions based on an exact calculation of Feynman path integrals; non-equilibrium steady state Casimir force for a driven electrolyte system in terms of the Dean-Kawasaki equation-based stochastic dynamic field theory.
