摘要

We will determine the discrepancy of sequences of the form $\{n^k\alpha\}_{n = 1}^\infty$ in terms of the diophantine properties and continued fraction expansion of $\alpha$. We will then relate this to the discrepancy of orbits of skew product transformations such as $(x,y) \mapsto (x+\alpha,y+x)$.
