We prove a large-data semi-global existence theorem and the dynamical formation of trapped surfaces for the Einstein–massless Vlasov system in $3+1$ dimensions, without any symmetry assumptions, the first study of the kind. The main novelty is the development of a precise commutator calculus adapted to the geometry of the mass-shell of the tangent bundle of the dynamical spacetime, a significant reduction in the necessary elliptic estimates, and an optimal regularity level. This is a joint work with N. Athanasiou and Prof. S-T Yau.
演讲者介绍
Puskar Mondal is currently a postdoctoral fellow at CMSA (dept. of Mathematics) and a lecturer at the Math department at Harvard University. His mentor is Prof. Shing-Tung Yau. Before this, he was a Ph.D. student at Yale university where he worked on Mathematical General Relativity under the supervision of Prof. Vincent Moncrief.
