Solitons and Related Objects in Quantum Field Theories and String Theories
Nonperturbative objects have played important role in our understanding of quantum fifield theory and string theory. In this lecture we survey these objects and study their role in these theories. Some of these objects are BPS objects in supersymmetric fifield theories, like, vortices, monopoles, instantons, branes in string/M theory, and other times like Q-balls and bubble nucleation.

讲师介绍
李淇明(Kimyeong Lee)是一位理论物理学家,主要从事量子场论与弦论的研究。他曾在韩国和美国接受教育,并在美国及韩国担任过博士后研究员和教职。2024年,他加入北京雁栖湖应用数学研究院(BIMCA/BIMSA)的量子场论与弦论研究组。他的研究兴趣广泛,涵盖宇宙学、黑洞、粒子物理唯象学、几何、表示论、顶点算子代数、范畴对称性以及数论等领域。
