Elements of Information Theory
This course offers an introduction to the basics and various topics of classical information theory, including entropy, channels, sources, data compression, coding theory, and complexity theory, among others. The textbook for the course is Elements of Information Theory by T. Cover and J. Thomas. If possible, we plan to cover this textbook over two semesters.

曹萌，男，安徽六(lu)安人。2020年在清华大学数学科学系获得博士学位，随后在清华大学丘成桐数学科学中心从事博士后研究。2022年12月入职北京雁栖湖应用数学研究院，任助理研究员。研究领域为代数编码理论、量子信息论。以独立/第一/通讯作者，在《IEEE Transactions on Information Theory》、《Designs, Codes and Cryptography》、《Finite Fields and Their Applications》等期刊上发表论文十余篇。
